- He was born in a village Navada, 6 kilometre away from city Saharanpur in western Uttar Pradesh. He completed his primary education in his village, middle, High School and Intermediate education from Government Inter college Saharanpur.
- He did his B. Tech. (Electrical) from Agra University and joined NHPC in May 1981 as Engineer (Electrical). He completed his MBA (Marketing) in 1997 during his service. He was sent to Canada for three months training program in power transmission business in August 1987. He worked in NHPC till October 1991 and joined Power Grid Corporation of India a newly made company by Government of India to make a National Grid of Power Transmission to connect all the states electrically so that the Power available in surplus states can be used in deficit states.
- He worked in POWERGRID up to June 2011 on different positions and always got appreciation from his organisation. He achieved the position of Executive Director of North Eastern Region and the most important Northern region with headquarters at New Delhi. He was honoured by National Award by Government of India in 2008.
- He was selected as Chairman and Managing Director of North Eastern Electric Power Corporation a wholly owned by Government of India company in June 2011 and worked for more than five years. During that period he was awarded with so many National and International level Awards by various organisations and recognised his outstanding achievements. During his tenure as CMD he was nominated as a Government representative to attend International Energy Agency meetings in Paris in 2012 and in China in 2016. He was also sent by Government of India to Brazil, France, UK, Afghanistan, Nepal and Bhutan to attend various meetings and conferences.
- After his superannuation on 30th 2016 he was appointed as Managing Director and CEO of Shree Maheshwar Hydroelectric Power Corporation for Three Years and worked there up to August 2019. On the basis of his clean records throughout his carrier and performance and rapport in the business sector CVC has appointed him as Independent External Monitor in two organisations. He is bearing the responsibilities of the President of SIAACBC.
