RATTAN SINGH
- Shri Rattan Singh was born on 4th September, 1948 in village Meerpur of District, Rewari, Haryana .He completed his Primary education in his native village and Middle education from nearby village of Turkiawas (1963). Unfortunately he lost his father in his childhood and he had to pursue his further studies at his Maternal Uncle’s Village, Narainpur, 7 kilometre away from Rewari where, he completed his Higher Secondary education from Ahir Higher Secondary School (1966) and did his Graduation from Ahir College, Rewari (1969). All these 6 years he had to walk about 15 kilometre daily. He did MA (Political Science) (Arts Faculty) and LLB from Delhi University (Law Center-2). Dhaula Kuan.New Delhi. He acquired knowledge of 7 languages, .i.e, Hindi, English, Punjabi, Sanskrit, Urdu, Tamil and French.
- He qualified LDC Exam (1969), conducted by UPSC but he joined as AUDITOR with AG, Haryana, at Shimla (HP), he joined Delhi Police as Sub- Inspector in the year 1972. He was awarded 35 Commendation Certificates with Cash Awards. He qualified Civil Services, Examinations, 1980, and he was allotted to Union Territory Cadre of Pondicherry. He performed his duties as Appellate Authority under the Payment of Gratuity Act,1972 , Workmen Compensation Act,1923 , Payment of Wages Act,1936, etc., he did tremendous work of setting up of first ITI exclusively for WOMEN. He established Franco-Indian Vocational training Institute, enabling Indian as well as French Nationals to get Jobs in France. He was posted as Transport Commissioner in 1991 and again in 1999. On promotion to Super-time scale, he was posted as MD of Pondicherry Industrial and Finance Corporation with Addl. Charge of Labour Commissioner. He led a delegation to European countries namely; England, France, Germany, Italy, Holland and Austria to attend Investor’s Meet and to invite Potential Investors to invest in Pondicherry.
